Fashion Week: Inside Today's Trends
Dear readers, today I am going to tell you about recent fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Unfortunately, by the time this will be published, the fashion weeks are no longer going to be new, but for those who missed or didn't pay attention - I will tell some of the aspects that might be interesting to some of you.
I will start with the new Balenciaga bracelet, which is quite…questionable, and definitely not for everyone.
This bracelet by Balenciaga was presented at one of the shows in March. It costs 3000€. Fashionistas were probably out haunting it all over the boutiques. In my opinion, it is really sad to watch a great fashion house, Balenciaga, go from elegant dresses to tape bracelets.
Results of the fashion week in New York autumn 2024
Once again, the information is quite old for summer, but it is all about 2024's fall anyway, so consider this your little reminder before school starts again.
If New York Fashion Week passed you, it's not surprising. This season there were no special events (even the PETA protest at the show Coach is not in charge) and collections that would like to talk about longer than 15 minutes after seeing the show. Yeah, well, but no more.
Here are the top 3 trends that we will most likely see in London and Milan:
Mob wife. It looks like the aesthetics of the mafia wife's wardrobe will be with us longer than the slavic core. Boots, lush hairstyles, crochet and twin costumes were on display Sergio Hudson, LaQuan Smith, and Anna Sui.
Minimalism. Less is more is the main design motto in 2024. Simple white t-shirt on the Michael Kors show, black total bows on the Proenza Schouler show, monochrome images in the style of the 1990s on Altuzarra
Athletic style. Wearing hoodies with skirts, leggings with ballet shoes and cargo with heels. References on shows Coach, Sandy Liang, Lapointe, Tibi.
Summary of London Fashion week: 3 main trends
London Fashion Week was even quieter than New York Fashion Week, despite the fact that it celebrated its 40th anniversary this season. Not in vain Dazed in his article called it lagging behind.
But it's wrong to ignore it fully. We'll check out three trends, which we'll definitely see in Paris.
Burgundy. The main colour of next autumn is Bordeaux. We carry it from foot to head, like Roksanda, Molly Goddard, 16Arlington, Erdem.
2000s. KNWLS's capri, David Koma's low-sitting trousers and simple sweaters, and Sinead Gorey's iPods with wire headphones instead of hairdryers.
A coat with a collar stand. The main alternative to the classic trend with a suspended necklace. The new silhouette was featured on the Burberry, Eudon Choi and JW Anderson shows.
Milan Fashion Week winter 24/25
"Elegant, commercial, wearable" – this is how you can describe all the collections of this fashion week in Milan. Less grinding and fictional silhouettes, more simple, concise things on the podiums – the vector that took almost everything from Gucci to the new Moschino. The exception is AVAVAV and Philip Plein, for whom it is a concept.
Prada and Dolce&Gabbana - no surprises. Versace was remembered only by how she lit Anne Hathaway at the party after the show. And the coolest debut was by Adrian Appiolaz in Moschino: fresh, with humour, while doing great work with the archives. But Walter Chipponi in Blumarine did not meet expectations: some guests left the show without waiting for the end of the show.
The main colour of the coming autumn, according to the show MFW – hachi. Although there was a lot of burgundy and lemon on the podiums, Haki is a clear favourite. All the collections where he was, not to list - Ermanno Scervino, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Ferragamo, Fendi etc.
What is being captured in memories from the Paris FashionWeek?
The coolest show with unrealistic styling – Miu Miu. Miuccia Prada beautifully presented all the trends of the season at once. The Row banned the story from the show, giving guests pencils and notebooks instead of phones, thus causing more noise than a Coperni airbag.
The long-awaited first collection by Sean McGuire for Alexander McQueen caused a mixed reaction. But Camel's debut in Chloe was cool. We remembered that bohemian chic is very beautiful. And the gift of Camena, on which her son ran into the centre of the podium, became the most mimic moment of the week. However, Anna Wintour's rare smile at Victoria Beckham's worship at the churches may compete with him.
The most viral moment of the week is the release of double Kate Moss (her name is Denise Onone) at the show Marine Serre. It's like two drops of water. There were not so many stars on the podium this time. Among the most memorable exits – Bree Van de Camp aka Marcia Cross closed the Vetements show, and 63-year-old Christine Scott Thomas went on the Miu Miu.
