How can you accomplish your goal of having a successful Personal Project?
Step 1: Brainstorming
The first step is to decide what your personal project will be. It can be done by sorting your ideas and the pros and cons of each one.
Step 2: Making an Action Plan
Setting deadlines for your tasks will keep you on track and reduce work overload.
Step 3: Research
Gathering information from reliable sources, if done properly, and organized conveniently - can be of significant help while executing your project.
Step 4: Making the product
Next - creating the final product. This should be easy and completed on time if the previous steps were done properly.
Step 5: Asking for feedback
Last but not least comes presenting the project. This is the perfect opportunity to receive feedback and improve the product before turning in the final report. You know what they say, two heads are better than one!
What obstacles did students face?
Inefficient time management was the most frequently mentioned one, where procrastination ruled and tasks piled up, leading to rushed completion close to the submission date.
How do we avoid making the same mistakes?! By creating a realistic action plan and following it!
This brings us to the next commonly-made mistake which is not producing enough evidence. While we are busy checking off our to-do list, it is very likely that we'll forget to document enough evidence. Producing proof is a key part of the personal project report which is what determines our final grade!
Lastly, locking in and prioritizing the project is essential to achieve a good result. Remember to stay on the grind and slay your project!
